Dr. Fortier provides mental health care to children, adolescents, and adults of all ages presenting with developmental challenges, affective or anxiety-related concerns, and personality-related difficulties.

She offers individualized, patient-centered care using a compassionate and humane approach, while respecting each person’s unique needs.

Dr. Fortier is recognized for her attentive listening, availability, and commitment to understanding each patient’s psychological suffering with empathy and kindness. Her diagnostic approach focuses on identifying the underlying factors contributing to mental health conditions. She aims to humanize psychiatric care and to support patients in achieving improved mental well-being.

Professional Background

Dr. Fortier completed her Doctor of Medicine degree and specialty training in Psychiatry at the Université de Sherbrooke. She completed her postdoctoral training in July 2000.

From 2000 to 2008, she practiced psychiatry at the Lachute Hospital Centre and the Joliette Hospital Centre, providing care to patients in long-term psychiatric settings.

In 2008, she was recruited by the Department of Psychiatry at CIUSSS de l’Estrie – Hôtel-Dieu de Sherbrooke, where she worked with an adult patient population and served as a Clinical Teaching Professor in the Department of Psychiatry.

Since September 2023, Dr. Fortier has transitioned from hospital-based practice to office-based outpatient care.

Dr. Fortier is licensed to practise medicine in Ontario. She currently provides outpatient psychiatric services and offers private virtual psychiatric consultations via secure telemedicine (Zoom) only.

Fees effective as of July 1, 2025

Payments are processed 48–72 hours prior to the appointment by credit card or Interac e-Transfer (where applicable).

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, you must do so at least 48 hours in advance. Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged in full.


Adult Psychiatry

Initial intake and comprehensive psychiatric assessment
(2 hours, including preparation and review of medical records): $950.00 CAD

Follow-up appointment
(30–60 minutes): $525.00 CAD

Psychiatric Expert Assessment

Starting at $2,500.00 CAD (we don’t involve in medico-legal expertise)

Additional Fees

Consultation or discussion with therapists, educators, or other professionals involved in the case:
$150.00 per 20-minute block

Written psychiatric report following an initial assessment: $250.00

Written psychiatric follow-up report: $125.00

Medical and insurance forms: $150.00 per page

Motor vehicle authority medical form (e.g., driver fitness assessment): $225.00

Disability or pension-related medical form (including full file review): $450.00
